The Barranco de Barafonso: Gran Canaria's Antelope Canyon
If you want a memorable Instagram photo, head to the Barranco de Barafonso in east Gran Canaria. Just do it quick before everybody visits the closest thing to Antelope Canyon in the Canary Islands.

Agüimes Hill Town
The cobbled old town, with its vast church and squat, heat-proof Canarian houses is the prettiest example of a Gran Canaria hill town in east Gran Canaria. It's well worth a wander.

There's more to Arucas old town than the great big church. Walk up the narrow cobbled streets behind the cathedral for great old Canarian houses and local street life, then head down narrow Calle Gourié to the High Street (Calle León y Castillo).
