The Trade Winds have now pushed the hot African air away and Gran Canaria and the Canary islands are returning to their normal weather pattern for August. Basically, that's sunny everywhere except for some cloud over the north coast. There could even be a few early morning drops of rain in the north.

Temperatures will reach 30ºC during the day in many places in south Gran Canaria but won't spike higher. South Gran Canaria is on yellow alert for heat today (temperatures up to 34ºC today) but there are no alerts over the weekend. 

Remember that Monday is a fiesta so the beaches will be busy over the weekend.
