The low pressure system is heading towards the Canary Islands from the south-west bringing rain and wind. However, there is also a high pressure sitting over North Africa that will stop the rain from reaching the eastern Canary Islands. The latest models suggest that it will also keep the rain away from Gran Canaria.

So, instead of a soaking this weekend we can expect some cloud and maybe some showers in western and southern Gran Canaria. The clouds could well hang around on Monday.
